My husband is a sap, and I am proud of it. Watching this little girl made him cry – she is so adorable and he wants so badly for us to have children of our own. His tears were so sweet, they made me cry. A couple of saps, crying and hugging, telling each other that they love each other and looking forward to their future children.
I love him.
I am considering getting a paralegal certificate (certificate rather than a degree since I already have a BA). I am really interested in law and since I’ve been so hesitant about law school I figure a paralegal program would be a great way for me to get my feet wet.
I need to be in school. I need to be pursuing something. I love my husband and I love our marriage, but I need to do something fulfilling for myself. Thank goodness he’s supportive.
As Lacey and I were driving home from the beach (we had the windows down and were singing our little hearts out with Gretchen Wilson), some guy driving by yells to me that I’m cute and is there anyway he can get my number. I just shook my head “no.” Then he said, “I love your breasts.” I, in turn, rolled up the car window.
Suffice to say, Lacey had the laugh of her life. I was shocked and mortified.
Too bad he wasn’t cute…
If you bungle raising your children, I don’t think whatever else you do well matters very much.

I got the following link to an article in my RSS feed today…
A study looks at the potential devastation that would arise should a major earthquake rock the Southland.

I decided to remove my previous post. There is really no point complaining about someone so miserable in her own life that she has to all she can to make everyone else miserable. Especially when any of her siblings come anywhere near to happiness of their own. She’s jealous and will never be able to be happy for anyone else.
Yesterday she tried creating a wedge between my husband and me. She was unsuccessful, but she did succeed in ensuring that she will never get to see her future nieces and nephews.

I haven’t seen my husband since Wednesday morning, and I most likely won’t see him until 1 or 2 am Sunday morning, or maybe not even until 8 am Sunday morning. I’ve been staying at my grandma’s house in Ontario because I’ve been working late nights and we needed to save money on gas. Fortunately the hubby had Wednesday and Thursday off from work. He is taking the bus to work today and tomorrow. I’m glad we had some time apart because we’ve been bickering a lot lately, but three days!? And when we do finally get to see each other it will be Mother’s Day. Hmm, think mom will mind if we ditched her?
During both my trips to work and back home on Wednesday, I heard Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville” on two different radio stations, Jack FM and KZLA. The second time I heard the song I thought to myself, “There has to be a reason why I heard the same song twice today.” There was… Yesterday afternoon (at work), one of our customers, Mike, called asking if anyone would be interested in VIP tickets to the Jimmy Buffet and the Coral Reefers Band concert at the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre in Irvine. Pam and Nancy both already had plans so that left me. I did already have plans to go to Disneyland, but I rescheduled them for tonight and was even given the opportunity by my boss to be able to cut out early. I text messaged my friend Lacey, “Do you like Jimmy Buffet?” Her response was “yeah, y?” Then I called her on the phone, “Can you call in sick tonight?” I wasn’t able to concentrate on work for the rest of the day, luckily things have been slow in the office so nothing was terribly affected. I researched directions and the Orange County toll roads. I was determined to be prepared. Debbie, Mike’s sister, dropped off my tickets just before 4. She was also going to be attending the concert. I left work, changed my clothes, picked up Lacey and we headed off. After a couple of detours along Euclid getting to the 71, we finally were able to reach the freeway via Central Avenue. Then the 91 to the 241 (toll $2.50) to the 133 (toll $1.50) to the 405 and we were at the ampitheatre by 5:56. The venue opened at 6:30 and the concert at 8:00. With our VIP tickets we were able to park in VIP parking and have access to the VIP lounge with Happy Hour and appetizers. Seeing as how everyone else was enjoying the delectable libations, Lacey and I decided we would have some of our very own: 40-ounce Smirnoff Ice with our appetizers of mini-turket palm sandwiches, crab cakes, sweet and sour meatballs, and beef flautas (the best flautas I have EVER had!); and Hurricanes in plastic guitar glasses 1-1/2 feet tall. We bought some souveneirs (a $10 red tote bag for me and a t-shirt for Lacey), signed up for some contests, and still had half an hour before the concert was scheduled to start, so we chose to check out our box seats – Box 8A, row 1, seats 3 and 4 – and our very cute usher (whom I named UsherBoy for the night). We didn’t want to just sit around in our seats for the next 28 minutes, so we returned to the Vendors, saw some more sights, sampled cinnamon nuts (almonds and pecans), and bought a bag of kettle korn. Then we returned to our seats just before 8 and discovered that we had a waiter named Michael ready to serve us (my name for him was Cute-WaiterBoy), we ordered fries (Lacey) and a diet coke (for me). Then the concert started. It was awesome! Jimmy came out in a red shirt unbuttoned to a shirt underneath, shorts, and barefoot. The songs were fun, people were dancing, singing. There was hint of cheeseburgers, margaritas, and marijuana in the air. People wearing cheeseburger hats, parrotheads, and shark costumes. There was even a man dressed up as a pirate. Favorite oldies like “California Dreamin’” and “Brown Eyed Girl” were performed, and Buffet-standards like “Margaritaville, “Why Don’t We Get Drunk,” and “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes.” One of my new favorites is “Pencil-thin Mustache.” (Lacey and I have decided that we MUST take a tropical vacation and SOON!) The concert ended, the crowds congested any and all exits, and then I discovered I had lost my cell phone. We had to wait about 20 minutes before it was brought to Lost and Found, but great relief was felt when my phone was returned to my hands and we headed home. After a detour into Laguna Woods trying to find a freeway, we ended up on the 5, 55, 91, 57, 10, and finally got Lacey home, but not without a few scares on the road (mostly because I was fighting the incredible urge for slumber). I finally climbed into bed after 1 am. I am certain my weigh-in for Weight-Watchers will prove that I either gained some poundage or didn’t lose any at all. (It’s been a bad week for points.) It was an experience I shall not be likely to forget and I’m very delighted that Lacey was able to enjoy it as well. |
